shoe shots by audrey on a past trip to the Nasher
The first official weekend of summer, the first weekend in a long time I have had in Dallas, a weekend filled with music, food, adventure, art, exercise, relaxation, friends and family.
I am thinking this is the perfect way to introduce myself and my new blog. I started the weekend while still at work Friday with a trip after lunch to one of the antique meccas in Dallas, White Elephant Antiques (check it out its pretty wacky and groovy). Then we met some Friends out in Plano to watch a blues band at Obzeets.
Saturday started off with a brunch at my groovy cousins house... can I say that a croque-madame with a side salad is brilliant. We headed out Saturday afternoon for a trip out on our friend Curtis' boat at Lake Lewisville. Then rounded out the night cooking for the Taylor fam. If you haven't tried roasted cauliflower before, I recommend Molly Wizenberg's recipe with green sauce from her book A Homemade Life. We added poblano pepper to ours and it was pretty rockin' when the sauce mixed with the steak.
Sunday Brunch for my friend Shannon's birthday at Villa-o started the day, then a few hours by the pool and a bike ride would have completed the day. But in true erin style I packed the day full with a quick trip to the opening of Private Universes at the DMA and girl's night at my friend Lindsy's.
My weekends aren't normally so interesting or life for that matter but I am perfectly happy to mix any of these types of events into my life. little e will be my new place for these musings.
Hope you stop by every once in a while to say hi!
hooray for your new space!
