Hi friends, as you may or may not have noticed, I haven't been blogging. Instead, I have been on a crazy round the world trip for my job. And it's not over yet!
As I sit here in the Venice airport on my way to Portugal I thought I would send out a quick note inviting you to catch up and follow me over on Instagram!
Most of the time I only have a second to post a quick pic and thought. So my tool of choices with all the travel is Instagram.

Oh, Hey! How's your summer been?
Mine has been pure awesomeness. My blog, however, has suffered. But you already may have noticed. So back to my awesome summer, since I don't like to dwell on the negative. Here is what I have done in a nutshell:
- Traveled the entire month of July (except 3 days) but got to enjoy seriously mouthwatering in-season Georgia peaches.
- Went to an Atlanta Braves game, and to the Aquarium (not pictured)
- Bachlorette party in Myrtle Beach, SC
- Set up 3 showrooms: Dallas, Atlanta, Las Vegas
- Gazed at Las Vegas architecture, wild huh?
- Went to Le Reve- amazing!
- Did a little vintage shopping
- Zip Lined down Fremont street in LV
- Attended a Moroccan pool party thrown by a very talented host (and friend) Carlos Cardoza
- popped over to the Rue Magazine Texas launch party (the whole issue is Texas!) and has lots of my favorite Dallas girls featured. :)
- oh.... and watched as much Olympics as I could!

In need of a little motivation
I have an ongoing board on Pinterest that is full of quotes, people and motivation that inspire me. If I have a down day or need to put a little pep in my step I just pull up that board. The above ones are in the current reminder.motivation list.
What gets you going? Do you have a similar Pinterest board? Leave me a link!
The above quote art are from here, here, here and here.

yes... i just spent 45 min perusing the jumpsuit section on ASOS
OK, so I am in High Point, NC and other than the fact that we get home a little later, and there is NOTHING to do here, I have been surfing the internet a LOT this week. I have caught up on all my shows via the internet, been on Pinterest non-stop, and tried to keep myself from buying too much online. Although I did score some pretty sweet kitchen utensils for $6 the other day on Fab.com.
While on my web journey, I started thinking about how during showroom set-ups and photoshoots, I pretty much have the same jeans t-shirt ensemble. I thought a jumpsuit/playsuit would be a fun alternative. Plus totally functional, you can move around and climb ladders and lift stuff cause of the pants/shorts aspect AND still be cute like a dress. Genius.
Above are my top picks... opinions?

Vegas via Instagram
I have been entirely reliant on my Instagram app to document this trip to Vegas (especially after my Rebel battery died during the Chinese New Year celebration). I feel like it gives the perfect vintage funk to this city... don't you agree? Here are some of my faves. If you have seen these already, my apologies.

We popped over to ABC kitchen for lunch yesterday. Good food, great atmosphere and Beautiful space. Then of course we popped in for a really quick walk through ABC Home. When in Rome, right?!
I love the paint textures on the walls... swoon.

A lovely Sunday in NYC
Sunday we had a day off in NY since the building is closed so Seth and I decided to go play in the city. Started the day with this lovely view from our hotel window... you can see the Freedom Tower being built in the middle at the very back of the photo. Then we met my friend Jen and went to the Guggenheim to see the Maurizio Cattelan exhibit. Pretty dark and humorous stuff, totally interesting and I highly recommend it.
Then we went for a run/walk through Central Park where we got to make these GIANT bubbles...(the photo below is our demonstrator... the guy runnin the bubble show).
The morning of athletics was quickly ruined when we stopped for Pop Burger then headed to Brooklyn to wander around... including SmorgasBrewery at the Brooklyn Brewery in Williamsburg.
We rounded out the day with a pop into one of my faves Artists and Fleas (where we had an unexpected participation in the filming of the web documentary Failure Club). Then onto a lovely dinner at the Two Door Tavern with Jess.

A couple more shots of Hong Kong
Still recovering a little from jetlag, but lucky for me Thanksgiving is this week! So I will have some time to rest. I just wanted to briefly share a few of my favorite shots from Hong Kong. The one above was right outside our hotel and you could watch the colorful containers being brought in while you ate breakfast every morning.
This graveyard was an incredible vertical feast for the eyes.
The iconic Lion on the HK $$. On the backside are the bullet holes left by the Japanese.
Dried octopus... so weird yet typical.
Because I love graffitti... and since it's HK, it's in English.
A daytime skyline shot from the Star Ferry
Splash docking on the Star Ferry... the coolest way to get to work in Wanchai.

Hong Kong: Night Squiggles & a Local Food Outing
Remember THIS post about B and I making Night Squggles? Well, I tried it out on the Hong Kong Skyline, and man there were waaaaay more colors. Sooo cool. Plus the HK tourism board puts on a light show with music and narration every night at 8 PM. Go to Harbor City for the best view.
For lunch today, our showroom manager Cliff took us to this authentic local HK eatery. She described it as a chinese food court... we thought it was more of a cafeteria. Let's put it this way, we were the only white people in there and HK is a pretty international melting pot. It was pretty good. I have no idea what i ate except that it was some kinda noodle dish.

A few shots of Shenzhen
In and around the city of Shenzhen... Yes that is a wig shop... With real hair.
Different blooms at the flower market.
A little rough around the edges makes the most beautiful photos.
These were all taken at the seaside nature reserve. I live the Seussical trees!!

Chinese Textures

We landed in Shenzhen today, 3rd city on our China tour. And I was so excited that I had blogger, FB and twitter back!! Yay. Must be cause we are so close to Hong Kong. Either way I thought I would share some cool textures that I have shot while here. I am especially loving all the golden Gingko trees.

Color days: my market week in outfits
High Point Market wrapped up yesterday and man I am glad to be home!! For a week anyway. I thought it would be fun to do a recap in outfits. At GV we always have a color theme each day. It's not real strict but it helps distinguish the employees from the shoppers. Unless we are so on target with color that many people have in that color... Enter orange.
So clockwise from the top left: Gold day, Grey day, Orange day and Ivory day.
Which outfit do you like best?
I had slot of fun with colored tights this time.

Great trip in NYC!! Especially Williamsburg

I got back yesterday from a week long trip in NYC, and a fantastic one it was. I went for the NYIGF and our launch party for DwellStudio by GV. I ate tons of delicious food (my body thanked me for Gym trip today) and even got some fun free time to knock around Williamsburg (Brooklyn)... twice. Once for dinner then back on saturday for shopping and.... Eating (it was Smorgasbord after all!

With the advice of my friend Jess, Saturday was really fun having pastries and coffee at the smorgasbord. Then just wandering the streets.

This place was a goldmine.

A couple groovy necklaces I picked up.

Rad graffiti.

The most brilliant store... CatBird and they have an online shop!

I coulda bought the entire store... But I did pick up some Lavender simple syrup for cocktails

Cute merchandising at a cheese shop.
A serendipitous meeting with Joslyn and crazytown good food at Eataly kicked off the trip. and look! they are opening a marimekko store.

I went to Long Island one night to watch a movie by the river in a park with my friend Jen.

Another highlight of the trip was Cacio e Pepe. I can taste the most delicious pasta now... And yes he is mixing it in a big wheel of cheese. Mmmm
I bought a hat too but will do an entirely separate post for that one. ;)

Mod Monday- a day late and in Vegas!!!

Last night (which was still Monday, I would like to point out), we took a mini adventure to Frankie's Tiki Room in Las Vegas for Happy Hour. If you are looking for a fun time, Off the Strip this place is pretty hooty and fun.
As you can see from the drink menu, it is pretty legit. I had the Lava Letch, but although it's a funny name the Bearded Clam was pretty rockin' (hold inappropriate comments please) ;)

I will do a post later this week on some other places in Vegas, because in 2 and a half weeks here I am starting to feel like a local.
